Go to RADiO DOCTOR page -- >> FILES and sear for document  by VU3VTK > De-Mystifying GM300.pdf and read thoroughly this document. It really works (only) with  the FTDI  USB to TTL converter.

I did download from page group and I did run in win7 and I did what the “hints page”said, and no problem at all. I did use COM1, but there is no acknoweledge from radio. Any other tip to connected??
